Scotland Bike Tours: Highlands, Lowlands, and Islands

Overview

Reservations

To reserve a place on a tour, you can click on the reservation button or call our toll-free number, 800-257-2226, and use your VISA or MasterCard for the deposit. The balance of your payment is due by personal check, money order, or credit card 60 days before your tour begins. Reservations are honored first-come, first-served, and many trips fill early due to the small size of our groups.

Accommodations

The standard accommodation at our inns is double occupancy. Persons traveling alone will be assigned a room with someone of the same gender from the tour.

Singles

Although we don’t offer tours specifically limited to singles, we are always happy to let you know the composition of a tour to help you make your choice.

Children

Experienced “bicycling” children over 10 years old are welcome on our Scotland Tour if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Confirmation Packet

We will send you a confirmation packet with information about your trip as soon as we receive your deposit. Included in this packet are:

Literature about the inns at which you will be staying
Recommended clothing and bicycling equipment
Suggestions for preparing yourself and your bike for the riding
Bicycle safety sheet
Travel insurance application form
Special Dietary Requirements Form
Details concerning travel to and from the tour

Travel Insurance

Please purchase Trip Cancellation Insurance since we are unable to make any exceptions to our cancellation policy even for personal emergencies. Travel Insurance is extremely important. It covers the cost of your Bike Vermont trip and other travel expenses in case you cancel for any number of reasons. Compare prices and policies at www.insuremytrip.com or apply directly with CSA Travel at 800-348-9505 or www.csatravelprotection.com.

Bicycles

You can rent an excellent 24 gear Trek bicycle from us. We offer dropped and upright handlebars on both diamond (“men’s”) and mixte (“women’s”) frames. Expertly maintained, they come equipped with a front handlebar bag, rear carrier, water bottle, mirror, and warning flag. Toe straps are available (free) on request. Bike rental is $100 for the Tour. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate tandems on our Scotland tour.

Helmets

We consider helmets an absolute necessity and all our riders are required to wear them. Quality helmets are made available to you at no charge.

Referrals

We would be pleased to provide you with names of people in your area who have been on a tour with our company.
